Experience
My name is Fatema and I am a recent graduate in Italian Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. I spent my last year as an undergraduate student studying abroad in Bologna, Italy. There, I interned at the Anglo American School and taught group and private lessons in English at beginner, intermediate, advanced, and conversational levels. I also worked alongside other native speakers of English that came from all over the world and participated in observation exercises and assistant teaching. As a result, I was able to see many different types of teaching methods and received instant feedback from my mentor who has over 10 years of teaching English abroad. I also interned for CAIL, The Cultural Association for Interactive Learning and taught English to children from the ages of 2-13 using fun songs and games. This was perhaps the most challenging internship because more creativity was involved than actual planning. There, I learned to think on my feet and use my surroundings to create a fun environment for teaching English to you students whose native language is not English. Lastly, tutoring English has become a passion for me. Before Italy, I thought that I wanted to go to graduate school so that I could teach Italian at the University level in the future but now I have my mind set on teaching English abroad! I hope to travel the world and teach English with this passion so experience is crucial to my learning process :)
