Experience

I have been a tutor for numerous years from high school through graduate school. The many years of private tutoring experiences have given me a strong confident in my competence to successfully help student in mastering math and science topics ranging from elementary math through upper division math in college as well as any chemistry, physics. electrical circuit and thermodynamics. I have also gained nearly one year of experience as a KAPLAN SAT II Chemistry instructor and received very good comments from students especially regarding my jokes about certain theories so that those concepts would stay deeper in their memory. Some other tutoring institutions I have worked during the past years were ACI, Tutoring Solution, Tutoring Club, Inland Empire Tutoring and Scorerite; at these places, I discovered many excellent text materials to assist my future students better in certain academic subjects. Also, I have both volunteered and worked at Think Together and Brain Hurricane in the Jurupa Unified School District as a program leader and a science tutor for middle school students. From dealing with these young students, I gained a lot of patience and the skill to turn academic into something fun; for instance, while teaching a physics concept, I decided to organize a hands-on activity of using any citrus fruit to generate electricity to power a light bulb to teach the particular concept along with grabbing onto their attention and interest. The students soon became very interested to learn the theory behind it. Due to the ability and strategy gained from my teaching history, I received a very prestigious "Outstanding Teaching Assistant" award for instructing an undergraduate class at UCSD. However, I still want to progress in my teaching pathway by gaining more experience as a tutor such that I can become a proficient and effective professor in the academia world upon graduation in the engineering pHD school.
