Experience
I volunteered as a tutor for calculus, biology, and chemistry during my senior year of high school. In my freshman year of college, I worked as a calculus and chemistry tutor for The Learning Commons (TLC) at UCSD. At the end of my sophomore year, I was a supplemental instruction (SI) leader for chemistry at UCSD. As an SI leader, I would lead small discussions to help students with their chemistry skills. Throughout my junior and senior year of college, I also worked as a general biology teaching assistant. I want to be a tutor because I understand the struggle of what it is to be a student. Most professors or teachers tend to over complicate certain topics and as a student I know the cons behind learning like this. I want to simplify concepts while giving students a full grasp of what they need to know. I know I've accomplished this thanks to the reviews I got working as a UCSD undergraduate tutor and TA, especially for biology.
